Well, I'm all settled in at my new spot. I like it a lot, it is much more quiet and there isn't so much action. I've been very stable today, although my oxygen needs have been a little on the high side. I had my first true nursing experience today and did a great job. What they do is time how long I am actually sucking & swallowing then determine if they will supplement my feeding through my gavage tube (feeding tube that goes through my nose down to my stomach). If I suck and swallow under 5 minutes they will supplement with a full feeding (54 mL); if I suck & swallow for 5 to 10 minutes they will give me half a feeding; and if I suck and swallow for over 10 minutes they won't supplement at all. I did very well for my first time and went for about 5 minutes. It was a good first effort. Mom and Dad were very proud of me.
