(2,144 grams or 4 lbs. 11.6 oz.)

Well, what can I say? I'm doing great with the CPAP! My oxygen has been in the low 30's and my Carbon Dioxide has been in the 40's all day long! My old ventilator, which had been standing by, has been removed! I don't have any IV's in me right now, and the very few medications I'm getting are all given to me orally. My feedings are now at 45 cc's! Plus, I had two favorite nurses today, Jenny in the day and Erika tonight! Could I ask for a better day?

Dad's anxiously awaiting the ophthalmologist's visit to determine if I've developed ROP (or Retinopathy of Prematurity.) ROP is when abnormal blood vessels develop in the eyes, they sometimes have to go in and perform laser eye surgery to remove those extra vessels. Two weeks ago I didn't have any signs, but it usually develops between 32 and 35 weeks, (of gestational age,) and I'm in my 34th week. Its very common in babies like me and Dad wants to make sure that its taken care of early so that my eyesight's OK. Just like everything else, if you're not worrying about one thing, you're worrying about another. Hopefully, the ophthalmologist will come soon, so that Dad can relax.
