(1,922 grams or 4 lbs. 3.8 oz.)

I've been doing quite well with my oxygen and carbon dioxide levels today so they were able to turn down my breath rate to zero! Now I am initiating all of my own breaths and they are supporting the ones I take. My platelet count was a little down today and my immature white blood cells were up. This could mean that I am still trying to fight off an infection I already have or a new one may be setting in. They decided to keep my PIC line in for a few more days and keep me on my antibiotics a little longer. They did a blood culture to see if maybe I have a blood infection. We will have to wait and see.

Mom and Dad came to the hospital today. Mom and I did skin to skin again and I did very well. She was able to hold me for an hour and a half. Dad sat next to us in a rocking chair and snored, he says that it's the drone of the ventilators, it just lulls him to sleep. This evening, I'd decided that I'd had enough of this ventilator stuff and I extubated myself. Unfortunately, the decision isn't up to me and Dr. Latta decided to have them reintubate me. Oh well, maybe tonight wasn't the right time.
