(863 grams or 1 lb. 14.4 oz.)

Whew, today was a rough day. I was irritable and squirmy and my heart rate was way up. The nurses gave me sedatives all day long with no effect. I don't know who was more upset, Mom or I. By the time Dad arrived after work, the nurses were considering giving me morphine. They talked to the Doctor and he asked scary questions like, "Are all of his extremities moving?" and "Is there blood in his urine?" Needless to say, Mom and Dad were beside themselves with worry. The doc approved the morphine and the nurse, Erica, began to give it to me. She checked my IV, where my medications enter my system, and noticed some wetness. My IV had come out! It could have possible been out all day long, the nurses had been giving me sedatives and there was a chance that none had entered my system! After what seemed like forever, Erica redid my IV and gave me some morphine. Whew! I crashed! When Mom and Dad left, I was out like a light, sleeping quietly.
