(856 grams or 1 lb. 14.2 oz.)
I am worn out today. Early this morning, I became very irritable again. It's just not like me to be that way. When my new nurse came in, she thought that I may be having seizures. Sure enough, she was right, I was indeed having seizures. They gave me medication specifically designed to treat seizures and I calmed right down. One of the more common reasons for seizures is a brain bleed, which could mean Cerebral Palsy. Another reason could be a blood infection. So they performed a brain scan and ran my blood work. The great news? I don't have a brain bleed and although my full blood work won't be back until Saturday, its looking good. Needless to say, Mom and Dad breathed a *huge* sigh of relief. They're not sure why I had a seizure, but they will keep a close eye on me. They say that seizures in preemies aren't unusual, as our central nervous systems are immature. Mom stayed with me all day long and I slept peacefully on my stomach. (So peacefully that I drooled.)
