Did I sign up for this? Mom hardly recognized me when she got to the hospital this morning because I am so swollen. My blood pressure has begun to dip again today so they gave me a small blood transfusion as well as some additional "volume." The good news is that it looks like they've actually gotten on top of my pain and I seem to be resting much more peacefully. My oxygen needs have been in the low 30's and high 20's which is great for me and I've been much more stable. It seems that I'm turning the corner and am on to better days. They think that I may be coming down with some sort of an infection, possibly pneumonia, since my x-ray looked a little icky. As a precaution they've put me on antibiotics and have taken blood and secretion samples to test. They also tested me for RSV, which thankfully came back negative. We will see if the samples sent to the lab grow anything. If I continue to do well with my pain management tomorrow, they may begin to wean down some of my med's to see how I do.
