(889 grams or 1 lb. 15.4 oz.)
Today was the best day yet. I graduated from the oscillating ventilator to a conventional ventilator. What does that mean? Mom and Dad get to hold me! (The tubes are much more flexible on the ventilator.) I did great, and breathed only 24% oxygen, compared to "room oxygen" which is 21%. (That's what you breathe.) My blood pressure and heart rate were also stable. Plus, they increased the amount of my feedings! (I was getting 1.5 cc's of mom's breast milk and I'm now getting 2 cc's). Hopefully that will help me to gain a little weight, and eventually, a butt. (see below) The best part of the day was when Mom held me for the first time. She was really nervous at first, I'm just so tiny, but I made sure to let her know that I was doing just fine. She held me for a whole hour. She told Dad, through tears, that it was the highlight of her life. Dad can't wait for his turn on Friday. Oh, I almost forgot to mention, I gained a whole ounce! What can I say? I aim to please!
